Why Vision Boards are Beneficial

Okay beautiful people, let’s talk vision boards, and why I love them so much! But before that… what is a vision board? It is a visual representation of your life’s goals, wants, and needs. It’s also a way of putting your manifesting into practice.

There are so many reasons why people choose to create vision boards and why you should too! One of the greatest reasons is that it takes goal making up a notch. For myself, not only do I like to write down my goals in a journal, but the visual pictures allow me to see the kind of future that I want to have and create for myself on a daily basis.

I have been consistently creating my boards for the last three years, and hosting vision board parties in the last two years. They’ve been such a help to me on my continuous journey of growth. Since then, I have accomplished so much of what I posted on my boards. Some of my greatest achievements include:

  • Becoming debt-free twice
  • My change jars are lit!
  • Growing my savings account to more than I have when I was working full-time
  • Traveling to places I’ve dreamed of going for a long time.
  • Passed my G2 license test
  • Taking my health into my hands

Aside from reaching many of my goals, there are so many other important ones that are underway and I can’t wait to see the final outcome of each and every one of them

How I Created A Board for Me

Typically, I love flipping through magazines, finding words, and pictures that inspire me the most. But, I did find that I had to print out many pictures off the internet and Pinterest. I want to stress how much representation means to me, and as a black girl, I found that many of the magazines I had didn’t include many people of colour. So many of my pictures are of black women, black couples, black babies, etc. Having a vision board that represents who I am, helps me to envision the life I want every day.

2019 Vision Board

I truly believe that being in possession of your own personal vision board is a must! Whether you decide to make it on a board, in a journal, online. Get you one and watch your life flourish! – Of course, that comes with action, consistency, manifestation, and self-belief.

Now, knowing how many vision boards I have and my limited amount of wall space, will I create more? And the answer is YES! In fact, I will be creating another one in the next couple of weeks. I can’t wait to share my new creations with you guys. Are you a fan of vision boards? Have you made one before? Let me know in the comments! Until next time beautiful souls, find your source of euphoria!

I love your vision board. I’ve been meaning to create a physical vision board as the digital pinterest vision board is really only good for short term projects and inspo. A physical vision board serves as a constant reminder and perhaps even subliminal messaging as you’ll be unconsciously seeing it throughout your day once you decide where to hang it.

Your vision board is so cute! I love the reasons you gave for why this is important. The process of creating a vision board is so great as you sit down and really think about what is important to you and what that could look like when it manifests. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been staying away from the image-based vision boards, but I love making my text-based vision boards! So helpful.

    • Shakerra August 1, 2020 at 11:55 pm

Texed-based vision boards are so beneficial as well. Each day you look at your board it’s like looking at a set of daily affirmations. 🙂

I have been slacking on my vision board. I have been sacking during the past few years, but for 2021 I am going to created a nice vision board, and get everything on paper so that I can have a visual representation of my goals. I really love how you highlighted the benefits that you have seen since creating a vision board.

I am definitely a fan of vision boards. This year I created a fashion editorial themed one because my theme word is discipline and I want to focus on my design craft this year. I love looking at.

I create vision boards every year. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has hampered some of my 2020 goals and plans. Maybe I will keep the same board for next year.

    • Shakerra August 1, 2020 at 11:52 pm

Yes, I totally understand. Covid-19 has definitely hampered some of my goals. But it doesn’t really matter when you achieve your goals, as long as you’re working towards it. You got this! 🙂

Vision boards are a life line for sure. It helps me organize my thoughts and truly understand what it is I want to accomplish. Recently I completed a virtual board as an assignment which helped me jumpstart my 2nd book. I’m glad I took the time
